2008 Dodge Avenger Overview
Introduction
The Dodge Avenger name returns to the line-up for 2008 to replace the mid-size front-wheel-drive Stratus sedan. With styling similar to a Charger, the Avenger offers many sporty features and standard equipment found in higher class vehicles.
The Dodge Avenger comes in three trim levels: SE, SXT and higher-performance R/T. Both the SE and SXT are standard with a 173-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, the SXT can be upgraded to a 189-hp 2.7-liter V6 engine that will run on E85 fuel. Both engines are bolted to a four-speed automatic transmission. The R/T is powered by a 235-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine and a six-speed overdrive automatic transmission. The R/T is also available with an on-demand all-wheel-drive system for added traction and control. Safety features include four-wheel ABS, stability control, six airbags, tire pressure monitoring and a security system.
