The Challenger STR8 isnt a overpriced car and why would you compare a sport sedan (G8) to a sports car? the car from the base model is a few 100 bucks more expensive than a mustang but offers a 250 hp V6 compared to the mustangs 210. I bought a '09 SRT Challenger and it takes premium and sells for sticker (at least) of about $42,200.00. I got a red one and it is outstanding. It is a big feeling car, very comfortable, killer stereo (Boston Acoustics) and my ONLY disappointment is the missing exhaust rumble for such a powerful car. After hearing about and finally seeing a prototype I knew I had to have it. One of the original muscle cars that keeps the '70's look but built in the technology of the 21st century. The 2009 Challenger is all I expected it to be and more. The ride is excellent but if you want to feel the power just push the accelerator and your gone. Doge you got it right. I will have this one for a long long time.
